Whisby Nature Reserve

Whisby is a very busy place with lots going on including children’s activities, nature sessions that teach you to be part of the community and help with various of activities.

Whisby is just up the road from us full of activities for children to take part in nature and play parks. The area used to be gravel pits and now its a haven full of wildlife of all kinds and very well looked after by staff and volunteers. Various of different walks lots of different lakes. Viewing points and hides!

As you can see from pictures above wildlife can vary from season to season. Long tailed tits, blue tits and great tits at the regular feeders which is slightly separate to whisby itself which is near the cafe and shop. Robin makes an appearance regularly. Geese are always busy as well as cormorants. Ducks of all kinds including shelducks, shovelers, gadwall, Great crested grebes and always lots of swans! These 2 were particularly very close. Swans mate for life!
